To Experior web license users
During the last couple of months, Xcelgo has been developing a brand new license server.
The reasons for improving the web license service are many, amongst others:
- Enhanced stability
- Faster service
- Up-to-date technology
- More detailed statistics
- The ability to have a fall-back solution (geo replication)
- Offline licenses
- Ready for Experior 7
A new license status dashboard will be available at; dashboard.xcelgo.com. It includes:
- A general license server status: end-to-end probe of the entire backend cloud service. Direct link: dashboard.xcelgo.com.
- The current status of the license, users, log of latest check-ins and check-outs, etc. Direct link: dashboard.xcelgo.com/License/status/xxxx-xxxx (this replaces the old license.xcelgo.com/status!xxxx-xxxx)
- Usage-statistics per license, user, etc. Direct link: dashboard.xcelgo.com/License/usage/xxxx-xxxx (so far running in beta). The statistics can be downloaded, so you can generate whatever statistics that you may prefer.
>> The web license service will be updated on March 25th 2019 <<
The switch will start at 12.00 CET and the new service is expected to be running within 1 hour.
During the switch it will not be possible to check-out or check-in licenses.
No changes are required for existing Experior versions, which should run unaffected after the switch is complete.
New versions of Experior 6.0 and 6.1 will be released some time after the switch and include a new web client that communicates using standard HTTP and HTTPS traffic (default port 80 and 443).
Standard firewall configurations normally allow HTTP/HTTPS traffic, but if it should not be the case or per-app firewall rules are active, then HTTP traffic must be enabled over port 80 and 443 for Experior.exe.
